Merike Susi


Merike Susi is a renowned independent Estonian artist, six-time Kuldne Plaat (Golden Record) winner and recipient of an Estonian Music Award. She is a singer, keyboard player, songwriter, producer, and vocal and piano teacher – a prominent figure in the Estonian music scene.
Originally from Võru, a beautiful town in Southern Estonia, Merike began playing the piano in childhood. Even before attending music school, she was already able to play pop songs she heard on the radio. At the age of 15, she moved to Tallinn to continue her music studies. After leaving school, she took on various roles – as a funeral organist and cruise host on Tallink ships – while performing in the evenings as a singer and keyboardist.
In 2000, she joined the band Meie Mees, with whom she won a total of seven music awards. From 2005, she began her solo career, releasing several singles and, in 2014, the album Üksi Üksolemises, recorded in the Netherlands. From 2017 to 2019, she was the musical director and leader of the studio band for the popular Kanal 2 TV show Suur Komöödiaõhtu for three consecutive seasons. She also performs with her band in a Tribute to Eurythmics and Annie Lennox.
In 2023, together with Italian musician Maurizio D’Agapito, she launched the unique bilingual duo MauMer
